Jan Bergstrom
With over 30 years of experience as a Licensed Mental Health Counselor, Jan Bergstrom brings deep personal insight and professional expertise to healing childhood trauma. A survivor of profound early life adversity—including the loss of a sibling at birth, a parent’s mental health crisis, and a near-fatal accident Jan transformed pain into purpose. Author of “Gifts from a Challenging Childhood: Healing the Legacy of Childhood Trauma,” she specializes in trauma recovery using the Healing Our Core Issues model informed by the Core Issues Work of Pia Mellody, Somatic Experiencing, and mindfulness-based methods. As co-founder of the Healing Our Core Issues Institute, Jan trains clinicians in an integrative trauma therapy model and leads intensive healing workshops for individuals and professionals alike. Her mission has been to help others reclaim wholeness, restore connection, and live the gifts found on the other side of trauma.
This is a new venture for Jan as she is currently branching out with a new type of podcast alongside her colleague, Patti Meyer. It’s not just about healing trauma; it also discusses topics that mothers rarely address and how everyday women navigate their struggles by sharing their own stories, thereby gaining a deeper understanding of the challenges of daily life. Patti Meyer is the CEO and Founder of BizMagic Virtual Business Management Solutions, where she and her team support female and gender-expansive entrepreneurs doing good in the world who feel overwhelmed by the back-end tech of their business and need help making it all hum. BizMagic creates, implements, and teaches the tweaks that help its clients make a bigger impact with less stress. Patti has been in business management and working with entrepreneurs for over 20 years and her favorite things to do in her business are strategizing with clients, building websites, and setting up the tech in businesses. She has always known that her purpose in this world is to help others, so amplifying women’s voices through stories and education is a dream come true.
