Raising the Bar in Midlife Dating with Kandy Christensen

Our friend Kandy Christensen is back as our very first repeat guest, and this time we’re talking about dating. Not the “be home by 10 and Dad needs to meet him” kind. The swiping-in-your-50s, everyone-has-a-little-baggage, why-is-this-so-exhausting kind.

Two of us at the table are single and sometimes ready to mingle. One of us has been married 37 years and brings a therapist’s eye for what actually makes a good partner. Between the apps, the ghosting, and a bunny who eats yoga mats, we got real about what we want and what we’re done putting up with.

  • The “dress has pockets” bar, and what it says about dating right now

  • Patti’s three-question rule for unmatching

  • The sneaky way to learn a lot about a man

  • Why Kandy wants the word “settle” retired for good

  • A dating method that involves burning things down (metaphorically)

Whether you’re swiping, taking a break, or perfectly happy at home with a book and a pet, you’re not too picky for wanting someone who asks a question back. Pour a cup of tea, listen in, and then come tell us your best (or worst) dating app story.
